What happened to the air leakage in the brake chamber?
1. Air leakage of hand brake valve
When the hand brake valve is set to the "parking brake" position, the hand brake valve continuously leaks air from the exhaust port. Generally speaking, it is caused by the lax sealing between the inlet valve and the valve seat, or the presence of foreign matters between the valve and the valve seat, or the damage of the inlet valve seal. Replace the air inlet valve seal with the repair kit.
During parking braking, air leakage of hand brake valve will not cause other faults. However, when the handle of the hand brake valve is set to the "driving" position, the hand brake valve leaks, There will be a problem that the wheels of the (middle) rear axle are "tightened" when the vehicle is driving. This is generally caused by the lax contact between the valve rod and the air valve of the hand brake valve. Obviously, the lax sealing of the exhaust port may be caused by the damage of the seal, or the lax sealing of the exhaust port due to the separation of foreign matters or oil stains between the valve rod 7 and the air valve 10. The fault can be eliminated by disassembling, cleaning or replacing the air inlet valve seal.
2. Too long inflation time of hand brake air reservoir
Before starting the vehicle, the main brake cylinder shall be fully inflated. When the warning lamp goes out and the buzzer stops, it means that the main brake (front brake cylinder and (middle) rear brake cylinder) has sufficient pressure. At this time, if the hand brake low pressure warning lamp is on when the hand brake valve is placed in the "driving" position, it means that the air pressure of the hand brake cylinder is insufficient and the spring brake chamber has not fully released the brake. In this case, when the car starts forcibly, the (middle) rear axle will have the phenomenon of brake "tightening". Therefore, the vehicle can only start after the warning light is off.
Under normal circumstances, after the main brake air reservoir is full (after the main brake low pressure warning lamp goes out), the Kwai brake air reservoir will be full soon (the hand brake low pressure warning lamp goes out). If the inflation time is too long (the low air pressure warning lamp of the hand brake is not off for a long time), it indicates that there is a problem with the gate valve (or overflow valve) that is connected between the (middle) rear brake circuit and the hand brake circuit. The gate valve is a one-way overflow valve. When the air pressure in the (middle) rear brake circuit reaches 6.5 bar, the valve should be opened to rapidly inflate the hand brake circuit. If the pressure value is adjusted too high and is stuck (or frozen) and does not open at all, it will lead to the fault of too long inflation of the hand brake circuit. Disassemble, inspect and adjust the valve to eliminate the fault.
3. Air leakage of spring energy storage compartment
The piston sealing ring of the spring energy storage compartment is damaged and strained, and the compartment cylinder is strained, which will cause compartment air leakage. Since the spring energy storage brake chambers of the (middle) rear axle wheels are connected by air circuits, as long as there is air leakage in one chamber, the air pressure in each chamber will drop, resulting in the "pinching" of the (middle) rear axle wheels when driving. In case of such fault, the air leaking brake chamber shall be broken for inspection and repair. The removal and installation of the spring energy storage brake chamber must be carried out on the press to ensure safety.
